‘The Walking Dead’ Season 8 Opener will Impress Fans

Fans of The Walking Dead, at least ones who are paying attention, are really starting to feel positive in terms of what to expect from season 8.  Season 7 was easily the most difficult season to watch, but long time fans stuck it out, and the pay off is coming.

When we last saw the group, they were tiptoeing into the beginning of the all out war and, contrary to what many expected, they were holding their own. Now, Shiva – King Ezekiel’s tiger – had a lot to do with that, and is responsible for Carl still being alive, but they all played a part. When we saw the groups merge together as one, admitting that it is truly time to put a stop to Negan, fans at home felt hope again as well.

Some of the cast and crew have given interviews that have all shown a light upon season 8 as well. Most recently, Norman Reedus said that season 8 feels more like the original ones. He reiterated that he didn’t enjoy filming season 7, but season 8 is something different.

So far, it seems like a new beginning, and speaking of beginnings, Greg Nicotero spoke of the season 8 opening scene and it’s importance.

We start season 8 with a close-up shot of Rick Grimes, and we soon feel that he is the one who dominates the plot, not Negan.

We immediately watched the SDCC trailer again to see if we believe that opening scene may or may not have already been revealed and we think it might have been.

Even if we haven’t seen it yet, Greg saying that the focus on Rick shows plot domination makes us indescribably happy.

What about you? Do you think we’ve seen that opening scene yet? If not, does the news make you as excited as we are? Let us know.
