‘American Housewife’ Season 2 Episode 10 ‘Blue Christmas’ Review

Well, Santa arrived at the Otto home and as they begin to enjoy the traditions of breakfast as a family, togetherness around the fireplace and then opening of the gifts as should begin the Christmas chaos begins. As Katie (Katy Mixon) insists on family togetherness as their Christmas morning traditions require the family hears bells well not bells as much as the landline phone. In case you have forgotten those where how people communicated before cell phones and in the Otto home is it is either death or a catfishing robot call (You know the one where they pretend it is a human, but it is actually a robot phone dialer). Well, this was a Christmas miracle on the other end of the line or just Doris(Ali Wong) who has gone into labor a few weeks early while her family is out of town for Christmas.  'American Housewife' Season 2 Episode 10 'Blue Christmas' Review

Leaving Greg (Diedrich Bader) to deal with the Christmas on pause until she gets back from the hospital things tend to melt down. Greg is worried about his rapidly bluing hands; the kids are rabid to open gifts and with Doris planning to hold in her baby until the next day he decides to bring the Christmas traditions to Katie. The family arrives packages in hand while Doris is in labor in a 5-star hospital labor suite that happens to provide room service for breakfast and a fireplace. (Yes, that is how rich people give birth in Westport) Traditions are further put on hold with Greg’s possible amputation from his blue hands, Doris’s decision that baby number four would be her do-over baby or maybe it was just the drugs the doctors gave her. 'American Housewife' Season 2 Episode 10 'Blue Christmas' Review

However, the Christmas miracles do happen when Taylor (Meg Donnelly) realizes she made the right choice breaking up with Eyo. Oliver (Daniel DiMaggio) gets the courage to ask out the girl he is interested in and Anna-Kat(Julia Butters) gets her Cobra (Ok we don’t really know if Santa came through for her but I am sure she is on the Nice List) and Greg gets to keep his hands after all blue jean ink is not deadly. The biggest miracle is Doris uncrosses her legs and her newest baby comes into the world and FINALLY the Otto’s get to open their gifts….Tradition miracles can happen on Christmas.
