‘Justice League’ Star Ray Fisher Joins the Cast of ‘True Detective’ Season 3

The third season of True Detective is adding a superhero to its cast!

HBO announced on Wednesday that Justice League star Ray Fisher will be joining the third installment of the anthology drama as a series regular.  He has signed on to play a character named Freddy Burns, the son of Wayne Hays (played by Mahershala Ali).

Fisher joins an already stellar cast consisting of Ali, Carmen Ejogo, Stephen Dorff, Scoot McNairy and Mamie Gummer.

In addition to Fisher, HBO also announced the casting of Michael Greyeyes (Fear the Walking Dead), Jon Tenney (The Closer) and Rhys Wakefield (The Purge) in recurring roles.

Like season 1, the new season will be returning to a rural setting in the Ozarks.   The official logline for the upcoming season says, “The next installment of True Detective tells the story of a macabre crime in the heart of the Ozarks, and a mystery that deepens over decades and plays out in three separate time periods.”
