The Latest ‘Mayans MC’ Teaser Pays Tribute to Jax Teller

Kurt Sutter’s Mayans MC dropped a brand new teaser on Tuesday, and this one is sure to hit the old school Sons of Anarchy fans right in the feels.

The teaser is short but impactful. The scene starts with a zoomed in panning shot of a roadside. As the shot pans, a decorated cross comes across the screen. The cross is dressed with flowers, notes, a patch and a sign which simply reads, “Jax.”

As the shot continues to pan and begins to zoom out from the cross, we learn that the Mayans motorcycle club has stopped by the place of Jax Teller’s (played by Charlie Hunnam in Sutter’s Sons of Anarchy) death in order to pay their respects to their fallen adversary.

Admittedly, as a Sons of Anarchy fan myself, the 30-second clip evokes way more emotions than I had anticipated. Check out the clip below.

Mayans MC is set to take place after the events which occurred in the Sons of Anarchy finale and the death of Jax Teller. We will be seeing the post-Jax Teller world from the perspective of the rival motorcycle club, The Mayans. The series will follow prospect EZ Reyes (played by JD Pardo) through his struggles and desire for revenge against the drug cartel while attempting to earn the respect from the women he loves. The series will be directed by Norberto Barba (Grimm, The Strain, Preacher) who is also acting as executive producer.

The series will be featured during FX’s San Diego Comic-Con panel with guests including creator Kurt Sutter along with co-creator Elgin James as well as the cast which includes stars Edward James Olmos and J.D. Pardo. Hopefully, we’ll get a full-sized trailer this weekend as well!

San Diego Comic-Con runs from July 19th – 22nd. Stay tuned to Fan Fest News for the latest out of SDCC 2018!

Mayans MC will be hitting the road on FX premiering September 4th at 10 PM EST!
