‘Twilight’ Will Return to Theaters For Its 10th Anniversary

If you’re finding that spending $350,000 on Bella’s Twilight house to prove you’re the franchise’s biggest fan is a little too out of your budget perhaps a $10 movie ticket will do? That’s right, everyone’s favorite vampire flick that they love to love or love to hate is coming back to theaters for its tenth anniversary, giving fans the opportunity to relive all of Bella and Edward’s Twilight magic once again on the big screen.

The supernatural teen romance will be hitting theaters this October thanks to Lionsgate Summit Entertainment and Fathom Events. Twilight’s 10-year anniversary theatrical run marks the first “Fathom Spotlight” film for Fathom Events, which will be bringing back “contemporary blockbusters, fan-favorite films, and modern classics” back to the big screen.

Of course, it wouldn’t be an anniversary celebration without some sort of commemorative footage, so the feature will include an introduction from Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke and will provide an exclusive sneak peek at the new feature Twilight Tour… 10 Years Later. Lionsgate will be releasing a Twilight Blu-Ray Combo Pack, which will include this latest release of Twilight as well as the other four films and the 10 Years Later special. That will be available on October 23rd.

When Twilight was released in 2008 it sparked a cultural phenomenon in the supernatural genre that really hasn’t slowed down in film and TV since. Based on the novel series by Stephanie Meyer the film went on to earn over $390 million at the global box office and the entire Twilight Saga franchise, which spanned five films over five years,  grossed over $3.3 billion worldwide. Twilight followed Kristen Stewart as the meekly awkward Bella Swan who moved across the country to the small rainy town of Forks, Washington to live with her dad only to fall in love with a handsome and mysterious vampire named Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson).
