Robert Kirkman’s ‘Outcast’ Cancelled After Second Season
Robert Kirkman’s Cinemax series Outcast, has been cancelled. After fans waited two years for season 2, the network has confirmed they have left the series hanging, and that we should consider it dead.
In a statement they said, “There are no further plans for Outcast at this time.”
The horror drama centered around demonic possession was developed before his comic series with the same name was launched, and Cinemax won the idea in a bidding war. Season 1 premiered in June of 2016.
The second season was greenlit before its premiere in 2016, and aired this summer, and wrapped up in September of 2018. Sadly, the series was greeted with less than glowing reviews, and bad ratings. Fox International Studios produced the series, and that branch is no longer in existence, so the bad timing of it all, may also have something to do with Outcast’s demise.
Cinemax also shifted its content goals to produce more action content over the gap of time.
Creator Robert Kirkman is famous for his creation, The Walking Dead, and still works on both the series and original comic by the same name. Fear The Walking Dead, the spinoff series also joined his lineup of projects. He’s also working on an animated version of his comic entitled Invincible for Amazon.
