There’s a Heartwarming Reason Why Jason Momoa Hasn’t Seen ‘Aquaman’ Yet

Jason Momoa was in New York today along with the cast of Aquaman and director James Wan. During their visit to the Big Apple, they stopped by BUILD Series to talk all things Aquaman.

During the interview, Momoa revealed that he has yet to actually see the film in which he stars as the titular superhero, and it’s really for the most adorable reason. Momoa says he’s waiting until he can see the movie with his children. When asked why he hasn’t seen the film yet, Momoa replied:

[row]”Because I’m waiting for my babies. I’m going to wait. It’s going to be amazing. My kids have never been to an IMAX theater. They’ve never seen anything this big, and I can’t even imagine what it’s going to be like for them or what it’s going to be like for me, so just to be sitting next to them…”[/row]

How adorable is that? That will be such an amazing experience for Momoa and for his kids to experience together. Of course, James Wan also jokingly pointed out that much of Momoa’s past work isn’t exactly kid-appropriate; aka. Game of Thrones.

In addition to Momoa, the film also stars Amber Heard (as Mera), Patrick Wilson (as the villainous Orm/Ocean Master), Temuera Morrison (as Tom Curry), Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (as Black Manta), Nicole Kidman (as Queen Atlanna), Dolph Lundgren (as King Nereus) and Oscar-nominee Willem Dafoe (as Nuidis Vulko).

Aquaman is directed by James Wan. Peter Safran is producing along with Zack and Deborah Snyder, Rob Cowan, Jon Berg and Geoff Johns serving as executive producers.

The official film synopsis reads as follows:

[row]“From Warner Bros. Pictures and director, James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, “Aquaman,” starring Jason Momoa in the title role. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be…a king.”[/row]

Aquaman will splash down into theaters on December 21, 2018. Amazon Prime members also have an opportunity to see the film one week early. You can find all the details regarding the early screening HERE.
