Bradley Whitford and Anna Camp to Star in Church Choir Comedy Pilot for NBC

Well, here’s some news to sing about Pitch Perfect fans! Anna Camp has signed on to star in a new musical comedy pilot from NBC alongside The Handmaid’s Tale and The West Wing’s Bradley WhitfordWhile formally known as All Together Now, the pilot is currently unnamed and comes from Whitford, Speechless’ Lesley Wake Webster and Single Parents’ Jason Winer.

According to TVLine, if picked up, the series would follow “a rural church choir that gets the director it never thought it needed when a salty, Ivy League music professor (Whitford) stumbles through their door.” Camp will be playing Ginny, “a waitress and divorced mother who plays the piano for the church and is the de facto director of the choir.”

This marks the third comedy pilot that NBC has recently ordered behind Kenan Thompson’s new sitcom Saving Kenan and an untitled project from Kal Penn and Mike Schur. Saving Kenan is set to follow the SNL cast member as “a recently widowed dad who is determined to be everything for his kids while begrudgingly letting his persistent father-in-law become more involved in their lives. The Kal Penn/Mike Schur comedy will find Penn as a “former New York City councilman named Garrett Shah who finds his calling when faced with six recent immigrants in need of his help and in search of the American Dream.” In addition, the network also ordered a musical dramedy from Bridesmaids’ Paul Feig called Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist.

While Camp is best known for her role in the Pitch Perfect franchise, she has an abundance of small screen credits including The Mindy Project, How I Met Your Mother, Good Girls Revolt, The Good Wife and True Blood. Whitford is known for his role as deputy chief of staff Josh Lyman on The West Wing for which he won a Supporting Actor Emmy in 2001. Other credits include The Post, Transparent, The Darkest Minds, and The Handmaid’s Tale.
