Dave Bautista Teams Up with a 9-Year-Old Sidekick in the First Trailer for ‘My Spy’

Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista is stepping out of the superhero world, and into the world of the CIA in his new upcoming film My Spy.

In the new film from STXfilms, Bautista plays a tough and seasoned CIA agent working undercover when his mission is threatened by the most unlikely person; a 9-year-old girl. In addition to Bautista, the film also stars Chloe Coleman, Ken Jeong, Kristen Schaal, and Parisa Fitz-Henley.

On Thursday, Bautista himself shared the first trailer for his new film. He tweeted, “He’s a Pro. She’s a Natural. Watch the official trailer for my new film @MySpyMovie – coming soon to theaters!”

Check out the new trailer below.

The official synopsis for My Spy reads as follows:

[row]”My Spy follows JJ a hardened CIA operative (Dave Bautista) who has been demoted and finds himself at the mercy of a precocious 9-year-old girl, named Sophie (Chloe Coleman) where he has been sent undercover begrudgingly to surveil her family. When Sophie discovers hidden cameras in her apartment, she uses her tech savviness to locate where the surveillance operation is set. In exchange for not blowing JJ’s cover, Sophie convinces him to spend time with her and teach her to be a spy. Despite his reluctance, JJ finds he is no match for Sophie’s disarming charm and wit.

The film is being directed by Peter Segal (“Get Smart”) from a script penned by Jon and Erich Hoeber (“Red”).”[/row]

In addition to the trailer, the first poster for the film also dropped on Thursday. You can check it out below.
