Arrow, which premiered in 2012, found Stephen Amell taking on the role of Oliver Queen and followed him on his vigilante journey to protect his city and the ones he loves. It was the flagship series in what has now become an iconic DC comic television universe with spinoffs including The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow and proved that audiences wanted to dive into the stories of superheroes not commonly portrayed on screen.
