A Giant Jeff Goldblum Statue Erected in London to Celebrate Jurassic Park

Jurassic Park is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, and in celebration, a 25-foot Jeff Goldblum statue has been built next to the Tower Bridge in London. This isn’t any old statue, though. Naturally, the work of art features Goldblum in the iconic reclining position, shirt unbuttoned.

The statue was commissioned by Now TV, a UK streaming service, in honor of the iconic film and took about six weeks to create.

Fans are flocking to have their picture taken with the statue and posting with the hashtag “JurassicJeff.” Actress Aubrey Plaza (Legion, Parks and Recreation) jumped the rope to get up close and personal with Dr. Malcolm before being pulled away. Funko Pop UK took a photo of their reclining Malcolm Pop figure with the statue, saying that “Life, uh…finds a way.”

This isn’t the first time that a giant statue of a celebrity has appeared in London. In 2013, a fiberglass Colin Firth found its way into the Serpentine in Hyde Park. This was in celebration of Firth’s role as Mr. Darcy in Pride and Prejudice.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom opened in June, marking Goldblum’s return to the franchise since he was last seen in Lost World. The film was a box office success, accumulating more than one billion dollars. The film stars Chris Pratt and Dallas Bryce Howard as Owen Grady and Claire Dearing, respectively.

The giant Goldblum will stick around London until July 26th.
