Alyson Hannigan to Star in ABC Comedy Pilot ‘Man Of the House’ Executive Produced by Kerry Washington

Buffy the Vampire Slayer and How I Met Your Mother star Alyson Hannigan has been tapped for a starring role in a new multi-camera comedy pilot called Man of the House.  The pilot was ordered by ABC on Thursday and will be executive produced by Scandal star Kerry Washington.

The pilot will be centered around two recently divorced sisters (one of which will be played by Hannigan) who decide to move in together to raise their kids under one roof. The oldest kid (and only son) is left to figure out what manhood means in a world where he’s now completely surrounded by females.

Hannigan will play a character named Jessie, a caring social worker who was shocked when her husband left her. With nowhere else to turn, and against her better judgment, she moves her teenage football-star son and preteen daughter into the home of her narcissistic, ball-busting sister Charli and her even more wicked daughter.

Written by Frank Pines (Baby Daddy) and Vijal Patel (The Mayor, Black-ish), the pilot will also be executive produced by The Jackal Group’s Gail Berman and Joe Earley in addition to Washington’s ABC Studios-based Simpson Street.
