Anna Kendrick Cast in New Sci-Fi Thriller ‘Stowaway’

Anna Kendrick has found her next big-screen role and this time she’s taking things to space! The Academy Award-nominated actress has just signed on to star in Stowaway, a sci-fi thriller from the creative team of Joe Penna and Ryan Morrison.

According to The Hollywood Reporterwho broke the casting news, Stowaway follows “the crew of a spaceship headed to Mars that discovers an accidental stowaway shortly after takeoff. Too far from Earth to turn back and with resources quickly dwindling, the ship’s medical researcher (Kendrick) emerges as the only dissenting voice against the group consensus that has already decided in favor of a grim outcome.”

Penna and Morrison recently teamed up for the 2017 film Arctic, which Penna directed and co-wrote with Morrison. The film was selected at the Cannes Film Festival this past year and the North American rights have been acquired by Bleecker Street Media. The two will assume the same roles for Stowaway.

Anna Kendrick recently appeared alongside Blake Lively in the noir-drama A Simple Favor from Paul Feige and last year wrapped up the Pitch Perfect trilogy (although there are some rumors that a fourth may be on the horizon). Coming up, Kendrick is starring in Noelle, where she will play Santa’s daughter who finds herself having to take over the family business. The film is set to premiere on Disney’s upcoming streaming service.

What do you think about Kendricks latest film? It certainly sounds like a captivating space drama to us!
