Ever wanted to see the scary side of superheroes (Batman and his obvious psychological trauma aside)? Ever wished your favourite DC characters would be reimagined by some of the most twisted minds in the horror genre? DC Comics is gearing up to release a collection of spooky stories, DC: House of Horror, just in time for Halloween! The 80-page anthology/oneshot boasts contributions from Bram Stoker award winners Brian Keene (he won twice, for non-fiction Jobs In Hell and fictional zombie classic The Rising) and Weston Ochse (Scarecrow Gods), and nominees Edward Lee and Mary SanGiovanni, and other masters of horror including Wrath James White, Nick Cutter, Ronald Malfi and Bryan Smith. These modern masterminds have been teamed with some of DC’s most talented artists, including (but not limited to) Rags Morales (Identity Crisis, Action Comics), Bilquis Evely (Wonder Woman), Howard Porter (JLA), Scott Kolins (The Flash, Superman/Batman), and Dale Eaglesham (Scooby Apocalypse). Keith Giffen (Scooby Apocalypse, Blue Beetle) is also involved, but for now, his true capacity remains a mystery.
Awesome, right? The fun doesn’t stop there. They’ve released a tantalizing preview of House Of Horror:
Martha Kent fights for her life against a creature from a spacecraft that lands in front of her farmhouse! A young woman is possessed by the spirit of a murderous Amazon warrior! The last surviving member of the Justice League faces down a horror beyond imagining!
DC House of Horror hits store shelves on October 25, 2017!
