New ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Theory Targets Black Widow

The Avengers: Infinity War finale saw many beloved Marvel characters turn to dust. The demise has left fans speculating how the characters could come back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the next film.

There are several theories popping up on Reddit, and the newest relies heavily on something that Black Widow says.

The /r/MarvelStudios subreddit is where the theories are spawning from. It’s a page for fans to talk about all things Marvel Studios and MCU.

The user who came up with the theory, RokuAang625, wants us to take a closer listen to when Black Widow says,

‘Thanos did exactly what he intended to do, he wiped out 50% of the world’s population.’

The user says she is most likely explaining that to Scott Lang/Ant-Man or Clint Barton/Hawkeye. They’re the only two Avengers who are alive and didn’t know about Thanos and his plans to wipe out the population.

This could be, or it could just be a misplaced line. Another user threw in the possibility that it’s just a line that isn’t even in the film itself.

“I mean, c’mon, they wasted CGI on putting the Hulk in Wakanda fighting along side everyone, and only used it in the trailer. What’s 20 minutes of ScarJo’s time for some lines.” he writes.

Of course Captain America is a possibility as well. User planterstick writes,

“I thought she was talking strategy with Cap. Cap is probably trying to figure out what’s Thanos’ next move because that’s the only villain he knows and she’s explaining to him that this is different. He’s done what he said he’s going to do, there is no next play.”

Another user, cuddlebirb, said Carol is another possibility. Captain Marvel playing a bigger role in the film would be interesting, since her film is out soon.

“Or she could be talking to Carol. Carol has no idea what happened either.”

The most likely of these possibilities is Ant-Man, because we see Scott Lang show up at the end of the trailer to help.

Who do you think she’s talking to?

Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26, 2019.
