Ben Platt Will Take His Final Bow for ‘Dear Evan Hansen’ This November
Any Broadway fan has certainly been following the musical phenomenon that is Dear Evan Hansen. This past year the show has been almost entirely sold out with fans rushing to the Music Box Theater to see star Ben Platt shed some tears and beautiful songs as the show’s titular character. Platt, who took home the Tony award for the role in the Best Musical-winning show has been giving both extremely physical and emotional performances for nearly four years including its workshops, and out of town and Off Broadway runs.
With his contract ending this year, Platt has announced that he will finally be stepping down as Evan Hansen for a much-needed and well-deserved break. His last performance will be on November 19th.
It will be a shame to lose Platt as Evan Hansen, but that opens up a great opportunity for a new face to don the signature cast and polo ensemble.
2 readings, 2 workshops, 3 productions and almost 4 years- hard to fathom that's it's nearly time to say goodbye to Evan and my DEH family. https://t.co/2Pnx0HmILR

Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
