A church choir singing “Eye of the Tiger”? Well, call us intrigued! NBC has released the first trailer for the upcoming comedy Perfect Harmony and we are certainly feeling some McKinley High Glee vibes. Starring TV veteran Bradley Whitford and Pitch Perfect’s Anna Camp, Perfect Harmony follows a rural church choir that gets the director it never thought it needed when a salty, Ivy League music professor (Whitford) stumbles through their door.
Prepare to meet a whole batch of characters who must learn to find their voices and come together to become the best thing their small town has ever seen. Camp will be playing a character named Ginny, a waitress and divorced mother who plays the piano for the church and is the de facto director of the choir. Check out the full trailer below, which yes, features a rendition of “Eye of the Tiger”.
Perfect Harmony joins Kal Penn’s Sunnyside as the one other comedy pilot that NBC ordered to series this Fall. The network also placed a full season order for Jimmy Smit’s law drama Bluff City Law as well. What do you think of Perfect Harmony?
Keep an eye out for the series, which hits NBC on Thursday’s at 8:30 EST this Fall!
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
