Canceled Netflix Series ‘Sense8’ Will Get a 2-Hour Finale Special

Never underestimate the power of a fandom.  Upon news of the series’ cancellation, fans of the Netflix Sci-Fi hit Sense8 banded together and sprung into action.  There were countless petitions, movements on social media, letters sent directly to Netflix and more all in support of bringing the beloved show back for an additional season.

Just a few weeks ago, Netflix responded to the outcry from fans by saying, unfortunately, the series would not be revived at this time.  There just wasn’t any way to go about doing it.

But here we are, just a little over two weeks later and fans have received the greatest news any fandom of a canceled series can hope to hear.  Series co-creator Lana Wachowski announced on Thursday that the series will be returning for a special 2-hour long series finale set to be released in 2018.

In a heartfelt letter filled with gratitude for fans, Wachowski said:

“It is my great pleasure as well as Netflix’s (believe me, they love the show as much as we do but the numbers have always been challenging) to announce that there will be another two hour special released next year.  After that… if this experience has taught me anything, you NEVER know. Thank you all. Now let’s go find out what happens to Wolfgang.”

The second season ended with a cliffhanger but, lucky for fans, they will get to see what happens and how it will all play out for their favorite characters.  Congratulations Clusters!   You did it!
