Celine Dion dancing and singing along backstage to Cher’s ‘Believe’ at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards
The Billboard Music Awards have always resulted in some truly memorable performances. This year’s awards show, however, featured two living legends in the music industry, Celine Dion and Cher.
Both singers performed this classic hits during the awards show on Sunday night and Cher received the Icon Award during the night’s festivities. Celine Dion received that same award during the 2016 Billboard Music Awards.
Cher took to the stage to perform her hit songs Believe and If I Could Turn Back Time shortly after Celine Dion had exited the stage after her performance of her legendary hit My Heart Will Go On. Little did Cher know, while she was singing her heart out on stage in front of thousands and live television, back stage, in the press area, Celine Dion was singing right along with her. During press interviews after her performance, Celine stopped and, along with a crowd of reporters and TV/radio show hosts to gather around a television monitor which was connected back stage. The group turned their focused to Cher’s iconic performance and, it’s clear that they all really got into it too.
In the below video captured by Good Morning America, Celine can be seen bouncing along with Cher’s performance and, along with the rest of the gathering, joining in and singing at the top of their lungs during the chorus. Cell phones and cameras were all focused on Celine as she sang along.
