Chris Pratt Channels His Inner Andy Dwyer for a Rousing Cover of ‘The Lego Movie’ Theme Song ‘Everything is Awesome’

We’d like to think that if Parks and Recreation‘s second most lovable character Andy Dwyer were a real person, he’d be into Chris Pratt movies, notably The Lego Movie. Chris Pratt also seems to feel the same way.

Pratt recently appeared on the Graham Norton Show along with his Lego Movie co-star Elizabeth Banks to promote the upcoming sequel, The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part. While on the show, the topic of the film’s catchy, upbeat and overwhelmingly positive song Everything is Awesome came up, and Norton revealed that Pratt has a way to take the tune to the next level of awesome.

With that, a stagehand brought out an acoustic guitar, and Pratt reveals that he’s been practicing a cover version of the film’s theme but as the legendary Pawnee musician and MouseRat frontman Andy Dwyer. Pratt digs deep into his Parks and Rec days to perform a few bars of the song as his former character from the series.

Check out the clip below.

The film’s full synopsis is below:

“The much-anticipated sequel to the critically acclaimed, global box office phenomenon that started it all, The LEGO® Movie 2: The Second Part reunites the heroes of Bricksburg in an all-new action-packed adventure to save their beloved city. It’s been five years since everything was awesome and the citizens are now facing a huge new threat: LEGO DUPLO® invaders from outer space, wrecking everything faster than it can be rebuilt. The battle to defeat the invaders and restore harmony to the LEGO universe will take Emmet, Lucy, Batman, and their friends to far away, unexplored worlds, including a strange galaxy where everything is a musical. It will test their courage, creativity and Master Building skills, and reveal just how special they really are.”

In addition to Pratt, and Banks, The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part stars Will Arnett, Charlie Day, Alison Brie, and Nick Offerman. They are joined by Tiffany Haddish, Stephanie Beatriz, Arturo Castro, and by Maya Rudolph.

Pratt and the rest of the Parks and Recreation cast will be reuniting later this year at PaleyFest LA for the show’s 10th Anniversary panel discussion. You won’t want to miss this and can check out the details HERE.

The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part will hit theaters on February 8, 2019!
