Chris Pratt Eyed for Reboot of Action Franchise ‘The Saint’

While it already feels like Chris Pratt is the king of franchises, it looks like the Jurassic World star may soon be finding himself signing up for one more. With Guaridians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and Cowboy Ninja Viking currently on hold, Pratt is now in early talks to star in a relaunch of The Saint, an action franchise from Paramount Pictures, according to Deadline

The Saint was first created as a book series in the 1920s by Leslie Charteris and followed Simon Templar, a wealthy adventurer turned vigilante known as “The Saint”. Charteris’ books were first adapted into a 1940 radio series before it became a popular British TV series in the 1960s with Roger Moore taking on the role of Templar. The story was also turned into a feature film by Paramount in 1997 starring Val Kilmer. In 2013, there were talks of a television series surrounding Templar, but it was never ordered to series.  As of now, Lorenzo di Bonaventura is set to produce the latest big-screen iteration.

While Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has been put on hold following the firing of director James Gunn, Pratt will be reprising his Guardians role as Peter Quill in the untitled Avengers 4 next year. He will also be lending his voice once again to The Lego Movie for next February’s sequel The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part. Pratt will also be starring in the third installment of his Jurassic World trilogy franchise, which is slated to hit theaters in 2021. Other films on the horizon for Pratt include The Kid, which tells the story of a young boy who witnesses Billy the Kid’s encounter with Sheriff Pat Garrett and Taylor Sheridan’s Fast, which follows a former Special Forces officer who is recruited by the DEA to take down CIA protected drug dealers.
