Christina Ricci Would do More ‘Addams Family’

Christina Ricci has confirmed that she would gladly return to The Addams Family franchise.

The 1991 adaption re-introduced the death loving characters that debuted in the ’30s. They even got a television show in the ’60s. Christina Ricci played daughter Wednesday Addams, who was more focused on her darker inklings, while most other girls her age were playing with dolls and wishing they could wear their mom’s makeup and heels. She was an early version of accepting different gender roles for women.

25 years later, in an interview with CinemaBlend, Ricci said: “I would totally get back in bed with the Addams Family anytime.”

Addams Family Values, the series of box office blockbusters starred Raul Julia, Anjelika Huston, Christopher Lloyd and Ricci. The last time we saw the family on screen was in 1993, and then they were rebooted with a different cast in 1998, which weren’t as shiny as the originals.

Christina Ricci has obviously grown up since her time as young Wednesday, so she’d most likely play a different character, or even Morticia the mother.

An animated version of The Addams Family is headed to theaters on October 11th, 2019. It includes a star-studded cast of Oscar Isaac as Gomez Addams, Charlize Theron as Morticia Addams, Finn Wolfhard as Pugsley Addams and Chloë Grace Moretz as Wednesday.

Nick Kroll will play Uncle Fester, Bette Midler will be Grandmama, and Allison Janney (I, Tonya) will play the family’s enemy, Margaux Needler. The animated film will be directed by Conrad Vernon and Greg Tiernan and will open in theaters on October 11, 2019.

Perhaps the cast will reunite in a few years for the 30th anniversary of the 1991 Addams Family Film. That anniversary will fall in 2021.
