‘Descendants 3’ Just Wrapped Filming and Everyone’s Emotional
The Descendants franchise is quickly approaching the end of its journey. The Disney Channel trilogy that followed the kids of some of Disney’s most popular villains officially wrapped filming in Vancouver this week, and some of the cast have started sharing some of their goodbyes on social media.
The other day Dove Cameron, who plays Mal – daughter of Maleficent, recently shared some text messages that she and Sofia Carson, who plays Evie – daughter of the Evil Queen/Mal’s BFF, exchanged where they were discussing taking some photos to commemorate their final days. Then they started sharing lyrics from Mal and Evie’s beautiful duet from Descendants 2, “Space Between”.
Dove Cameron also shared a shot of her journaling about the last day that featured a photo of the “Core Four”all holding hands, which consists of Cameron and Carson, as well as Cameron Boyce, who plays Carlos – son of Cruella DeVil, and BooBoo Stewart who plays Jay – son of Jafar.

She also posted some photos of her and Carson in costume two days before filming wrapped!

Carson also shared a video of the cast driving off of the set on one of their last days.
Director Kenny Ortega, who has captained all three films, also shared a touching tribute on Instagram.
Cameron Boyce was doing his best to cheer the girls up on the last day with some nice hair flipping.

We’re sure there are so many more photos to come, but we already have all the feels from just these few special moments. The official plot of Descendants 3 has been kept under wraps, but we do know thanks to Disney Channel’s teaser announcement that Mal’s dad will be playing a huge role. Considering they brought on Cheyenne Jackson to play the role of Hades, many think that he will play into that story. In addition to Jackson, D3 has added Jadah Marie as Dr. Facilier’s daughter, Jamal Sims as Dr. Facilier, and Christian Convery and Luke Roessler as Smee’s sons, Squeaky and Squirmy. They join a returning cast of Mitchell Hope, Thomas Doherty, China Anne McClain, Dylan Playfair, and Anna Cathcart.
The third and final Descendants film will premiere on Disney Channel in 2019!
