Boy, don’t call me angel/You ain’t got me right. Don’t call me angel/You can’t pay the price.
With the Charlie’s Angels reboot on the way, of course, new music was going to follow.
Ariana Grande is co-executive producing the movie soundtrack and recruited Miley Cyrus and Lana Del Rey for the single “Don’t Call Me an Angel.”
This is the first time the trio has collaborated on music. The song was originally previewed in one of the first trailers for the film.
The trio don black angel wings and show off their badass fight skills in the nearly five-minute music video.
The lines are fierce, especially Cyrus’s. “Don’t call me angel when I’m a mess/ Don’t call me angel when I get undressed/ You know I, I don’t like that boy/ I make my money and I write the checks/ So say my name with a little respect.”
“When I first heard it, obviously I wasn’t on it. It was just Ariana‘s parts,” Del Rey said. “They wanted me to write something, so I…kind of cut her verse into a halftime bridge and just saying some stuff over her courses as well, and then Miley jumped on. So, it’s just really very spicy. A spicy little track.”
We agree, Lana, it’s spicy!
Charlie’s Angels stars Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska as the angels while Elisabeth Banks plays Bosley. Banks also wrote and directed the reboot.
The movie soundtrack will be released on November 1st via Republic and the film hits theaters November 15th.
