‘Fortnite’ Update 6.01 Brings Icy fun and new Playground Options
Earlier this week Digital Trends reported that a rumored Fortnite update would include a ” freeze trap” item.
Epic Games now have confirmed that the rumors were true.
According to the developers, “the Chiller” is a way to mess with your enemies, and also a brand new escape feature.
In Fortnite version 6.01, the Chiller can be used as an excellent tool to keep enemies from taking a shot by freezing their feet. once it’s activated, they will simply slide across the ice. For instance, if a teammate uses it, you slide so quickly that you can escape fire. You’ll move too quickly for them to take aim.
The game developers have made it easy to find the Chiller, as it’s out in the open. The trap is vast, with snowflake design which quickly gives other players an opportunity to know what it is.
Check out the chiller in action:
You can find The Chiller in vending machines, treasure chests, supply drops, ceilings or walls.
We also get additional customization options for playground mode in the update. The player can change the game into a specific customized setting like the starting health for players or level for gravity.
There are even a few other quality-of-life improvements added with it. Whenever the camera gets close to your character, the newly added pets will disappear to allow you to see better. The motion controls also became more pointed.
Fortnite is available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, PC, Mac, iOS, and Android.
