GoT Spoilers

The Game of Thrones Season 6 finale is just days away and the anticipation is killing us!

Last week, the Battle of the Bastards definitely did not disappoint!  The battle pitted Jon Snow against everyone’s least favorite character, Ramsay Bolton in an showdown of truly epic proportions.  Ultimately, Ramsay and what was left of his army ended up retreating and, just when it appeared they had made it safely back to Winterfell, all hell broke loose.  Wun Wun the giant broke down the main gate and, sadly, paid the ultimate sacrifice.  Enraged and maddened with grief after watching Ramsay kill Rickon (why didn’t you zig zag, Rickon?  Why!?) and at the loss of his giant friend, Jon Snow took down Ramsay, brutally beating him unconscious and nearly killing him.  Jon restrained himself after he saw Sansa watching him and realizing this wasn’t his battle to finish.  Ramsay woke up hours later, tied to a chair with Sansa looking over him through a caged door.   Sansa is the one who finished the job allowing Ramsay’s hounds to devour him as she walked away with an ever so slight smile on her face.

Your words will disappear. Your House will disappear. Your name will disappear. All memory of you will disappear.” – Sansa Stark

Ramsay’s death was intense but seemed to bring a rare feeling of justice and resolution.  However, as we know, in the world of Game of Thrones, every conflict resolved yields multiple new conflicts that arise.

The season 6 finale, titled The Winds of Winter, will be the show’s longest episode yet clocking in at 69 minutes.  HBO has released new photos as well as a teaser video for the upcoming finale.  The photos below set up some interesting scenarios, showing Jaime Lannister and Walder Frey together, the return of Bran Stark, Ser Loras sporting a new hair cut, and more.

Miguel Sapochnik, who directed both Battle of the Bastards and The Winds of Winter told Entertainment Weekly earlier this week that the finale “feels equally as epic as episode 9 [Battle of the Bastards] … but for completely different reasons.” We can’t wait to see what this super-sized season finale has in store!

Check out HBO’s photos and teaser video below.  Be sure to tune in to HBO on Sunday night at 9pm for the season 6 finale.
