‘Goonies’ Sequel Update

Goonies may be the most demanded sequel from the 80’s and we’ve got some updates!

Recently, stars Sean Astin, Corey Feldman, and Ke Huy Quan were together at a fan convention and were asked about the possibility of a sequel.  “That is the most asked question I’ve heard for the last 30 years,” Quan said. Astin then answered the question, singing the first line of “The Way You Look Tonight,” with, “Someday.”

“The audience wants it, they’re gonna do it, it’s annoying it’s taking so long, I’m sorry on behalf of Steven Spielberg,” Astin said of the Goonies producer.

In an April interview with Collider, Astin said, “Now I think we’ve probably passed the threshold for which all of us original cast members are right for doing a sequel, but the audience is so powerful and so devoted to it, that I’m convinced that at the very least, it will be rebooted, which I will be fine with.”

However, several weeks ago, Feldman was caught on the street by TMZ and said quite the contrary, “There ain’t no damn ‘Goonies’ reunion!!!”

35 years later, a Goonies sequel doesn’t sound like were anywhere close to seeing it on the big screen.  However, with such a significant property, a reboot seems to be much more likely.  How about our original Goonies’ children have to rally together to save the community again that their parents once saved but there’s a tunnel to the left that they totally missed where “Two-Eyed Willie’s” ship is, brother of “One-Eyed.”?

What do you think of a sequel or reboot and what’s your idea for a second film?  Let us know in the comments below!

  1. No reboot please! Sequel might be ok but some classics should be left alone and this is one of them!

  2. Leave my childhood alone! All these reboots and re-imaginings are driving me insane. Hollywood is ruining some of my most loved childhood memories with their inability to make an original movie. The Goonies is my all time favorite movie, and I have zero interest in a Hollywood cash grab that tarnishes the magic of the original.

  3. Can’t they think of any think else to make. Stop trying to remake these classics. They won’t make that any better. It’s a true classic from many childhoods. PLEASE PLEASE LEAVE ALONE.

  4. I just don’t think a sequel or a reboot can come close to being as great as this Classic movie! One if my all time favorites, great cast, cool story line, funny and adventurous! I say leave it alone! It’s a one of a kind!

  5. Nothing lasts forever. Sequel would be way better. Its time to give our children their treasure hunt adventure.

  6. Corey Feldman is a complete toolbag and terd! It would be great to see that little terd squirm when they make a movie without him and show how much better it can be!
