‘It: Chapter Two’ Finds Its Adult Henry Bowers
It looks like Henry Bower’s fate was not sealed when Mike pushed him down that well in It and hopefully, 27 years has made him a changed man. It: Chapter Two has cast Teach Grant to play the adult version of the Bowers, who spent the first chapter of It bullying the Loser’s Club in any way he could before falling under Pennywise’s control and killing his father. Nicholas Hamilton and his glorious mullet played young Henry.
Henry’s film arc took quite a different path than that of his novel counterpart. In the novel, he ends up being blamed for Pennywise’s murders and the missing children and gets sent to a mental asylum. We don’t want to give away too much from the Stephen King book, but the highly anticipated horror sequel will find the Loser’s club 27 years after the first movie, which just so happens to be when Pennywise will be paying them a visit again. Bill Skarsgard will be reprising his role of the terrorizing clown.
Netflix fans may recognize Grant from his recent role on Altered Carbon as well as a recurring role on USA’s Damnation. He joins an already stellar cast of adult Loser’s including Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy, and Bill Hader who are sure to aid the film in becoming an even bigger success than the first. Directed by Andy Muschietti, It raked in over $700 million worldwide and broke the record for the biggest horror movie opening weekend ever.
It: Chapter Two hits theaters September 2019.
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
