‘IT’ Star Sophia Lillis to star in ‘Nancy Drew’ Movie Adaptation
Here is some fantastic news for all the mystery solving lovers out there!
Sophia Lillis, last seen as Young Beverly Marsh in Warner Bros’ IT, has been selected as the titicular character in the studios’ upcoming film adaptation of Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase – based off of the popular Nancy Drew books written by Carolyn Keene.
The Hidden Staircase, the novel, was first released in 1930 and was the second volume in the Nancy Drew Series.
The story focuses on two elderly sisters, encountering a strange experience in their family owned Victiorian stye house. After a ‘strange’ experience, the pair gets accused of murder. It is up to Nancy to investigate the mystery with her partner Bess, and free the sisters from jail!
Ellen DeGeneres, Jeff Kleeman, and Chip Diggins are on board to produce the project, which is aiming to roll the cameras soon.
Lillis will next be seen in HBO’s eight-episode drama series “Sharp Objects.”
