Jessica Chastain Just Proved Why She’s the Perfect Beverly for ‘It’

Warner Bros./20th Century Fox

When It: Chapter Two was first announced and confirmed that it would be following the adult versions of the Loser’s Club, fans immediately dream casted Jessica Chastain has adult Beverly Marsh. Not only is Chastain an extremely talented and well-respected actress in Hollywood with multiple Academy Award nominations, she also looks like she actually could be the older version of Sophia Lillis, the actress who originated the role Beverly in the 2017 horror film success. Don’t believe me? Check out the Instagram post Chastain just shared from Day 1 on the It: Chapter 2 set!

Along with fans, Chastain had voiced her eagerness to play the adult version of Beverly in the past, having worked with It director Andy Muschietti on the 2013 horror film Mama.

“Well, I love Andy and Barbara. I worked with them on Andy’s directorial debut, you know, his film, Mama. His first film. And you know, Barbara is one of my best friends so… Listen, of course, I want to work… they’re my friends. They’re like my family. Anything that they’re doing I want to be a part of, so I hope we can make it happen,” Chastain told  Screen Rant last year.

Chastain isn’t the only one sharing some behind-the-scenes looks from the set. James McAvoy, who will be playing adult Bill Denborough, recently shared a tongue in cheek photo of him holding some cheese (dairy…Derry…get it?), officially confirming his role.

Set 27 years after the first movie, It: Chapter Two will find The Loser’s Club in Derry, Maine once again being subjected to the terrifying Pennywise, a role which Bill Skarsgård will be reprising. The movie also stars Bill Hader, James Ransone, Andy Bean and Isaiah Mustafa. The film hits theaters September 6, 2019!
