At last, the title for John Wick 3 has finally been revealed.
Many reports throughout 2018 claimed that the title would be either John Wick: Parabellum (Latin for Prepare for War) or simply, John Wick: Chapter 3. It seems as though Lionsgate has compromised and have settled for John Wick: Chapter 3- Parabellum.
Along with the confirmed title, we also got a great look at the first official poster.
The poster shows Keanu Reeves as John Wick standing outside of a glass door. The words, “Continental NYC” and “excommunicado” can be read backwards on the door- a subtle reference to the events of John Wick 2 which showed John being excommunicated after breaking international assassin laws causing a massive bounty to appear on his head (at least the dog was alright this time)
You can read the official synopsis for John Wick: Chapter 3- Parabellum here:
John Wick (Keanu Reeves) is on the run for two reasons… he’s being hunted for a global $14 million dollar open contract on his life, and for breaking a central rule: taking a life on Continental Hotel grounds. The victim was a member of the High Table who ordered the open contract. John should have already been executed, except the Continental’s manager, Winston, has given him a one-hour grace period before he’s “Excommunicado” – membership revoked, banned from all services and cut off from other members. John uses the service industry to stay alive as he fights and kills his way out of New York City.
The film is set to be released on May 17th and Chad Stahelski is back to direct, with Laurence Fishburne, Ian McShane and Lance Reddick all reprising their roles.
Hold on tight, John Wick doesn’t mess around. Expect epic action, plenty of guns and explosions, and probably Keanu Reeves taking an assassin out with a paper clip- Don’t laugh, I bet he could do it… you saw what he could do with a pencil, and this time he has a horse!
Update- You can check out the teaser trailer here- a full trailer is due on Thursday
