‘Joker’ Casts Young Bruce Wayne & Alfred Pennyworth

What is a Joker film without a Bruce Wayne and Alfred Pennyworth? That’s precisely what we thought, and it appears the people behind Joker thought the same as they just cast their young Bruce Wayne and Alfred Pennyworth.

Dante Pereira-Olson is joining the exciting new film as the young Bruce Wayne. The young actor already came face to face with his future enemy on screen Joaquin Phoenix in a previous movie called You Were Never Really Here (2017).

Another very familiar face in the cast now is Douglas Hodge, who got cast as the legendary Alfred Pennyworth. Douglas Hodge is known for his work in Robin Hood (2010) The Night Manager (2016), Penny Dreadful (the series ended in 2016), and Red Sparrow (2018).

A few weeks after the start of production we immediately were indulged with a camera test, shared by director Todd Phillips, where Joaquin Phoenix showed off his Joker makeup.

The only thing we know is that the storyline will be in the line of Alan Moore’s The Killing Joke. All other details are under lock and key, which is not a problem as we finally got a full list of the cast that will be joining Joaquin Phoenix in this origin movie. Todd Phillips’ directed Joker was confirmed to have an amazing cast including Joaquin Phoenix, Zazie Beetz, Robert DeNiro,  Marc Maron, Brett Cullen, Bill Camp, Frances Conroy, Glenn Fleshler, Shea Whigham,  Josh Pais, Dante Pereira-Olson, and Douglas Hodge.

Read the official synopsis here:

“Joker” centers around the iconic arch nemesis and is an original, standalone story not seen before on the big screen. Phillips’ exploration of Arthur Fleck (Phoenix), a man disregarded by society, is not only a gritty character study but also a broader cautionary tale.

Joker will hit theaters on October 4, 2019.
