Katy Perry Joins James Corden for Carpool Karaoke During ‘The Late Late Show” Primetime Special

Katy Perry is making the rounds, promoting her new music and upcoming tour.  On Monday night, she appeared on Carpool Karaoke during a special primetime edition of The Late Late Show with James Corden.

The duo rocked out to Perry’s hit songs while Corden drive around the blocks surrounding the studio where his show is filmed.  They sang through her early hits such as Firework, I Kissed a Girl, and Dark Horse. During their singing, Perry and Corden chatted about her new adorable pixie haircut, who the song I Kissed a Girl is really about.  For those wondering, it’s not Scarlett Johansson.

Then, they moved on to her latest hits starting off with Bon Appetit then leading into her latest song Swish Swish, which has become shrouded in semi-controversy since it premiered.  Many believe the song is a clap back at Taylor Swift who according to Corden, Perry has “famous beef” with.  Corden asks Perry about the whole Swift situation and, surprisingly, Perry delivers an answer.

Perry said the whole situation with Swift started after there was a misunderstanding regarding the use of the same backing dancers.  Perry says she reached out in an effort to talk things out with Swift but, that didn’t happen and, shortly after, Swift released the song Bad Blood.

After the years of conflict though, Perry is ready for the “feuding” to be over saying she’s, “ready for that BS to be done.”  Perry adds a final unifying statement after Corden asks if she’s ready to “take the beef off the grill.” Perry says:

“I think, personally, that women together — not divided and, like, none of this petty sh– — women together will heal the world.”
