Kurt Sutter Shares New BTS Photo From ‘Mayans MC’
We are all anxiously waiting for Kurt Sutter’s Sons of Anarchy spin-off Mayans MC, which is hopefully premiering this fall on FX, and Sutter is more than happy to provide some behind the scenes looks for fans while we wait! Most recently he shared a photo of Mayan MC president and Sons alum Emilio Rivera looking mighty badass in his cut with a cigar. Check it out below!

Sutter has been known for giving fans a glimpse at the making of the long-awaited spin-off from time to time such as this photo of the crew.

Mayans MC will take place after the events of Sons of Anarchy and will follow EZ Reyes, a former golden boy now fresh out of prison, as a prospect in the Mayan MC charter on the California-Mexico border who must carve out his new outlaw identity. JD Pardo will be taking on the lead role of Reyes with Rivera, of course, reprising his role as Marcus Alvarez, the president of the Mayans Motorcycle Club. The series also stars Law & Order: SVU alum Danny Pinto, Richard Cabral, Clayton Cardenas and Michael Irby, Edward James Olmos, Sarah Bolger, and Antonio Jaramillo.
Last month, FX released a quick 30-second teaser trailer for the series, which got fans extremely excited for a full-length trailer which will hopefully drop in the coming months along with an official premiere date. The teaser shows the Mayas doing their thing and riding down the highway to a Spanish-version of The Rolling Stone’s “Paint it Black.”
FX was clearly confident in Sutter’s ability to bring the MC world back to life on screen as they gave the series a straight-to-series order with 10 episodes.
“Kurt Sutter is a master storyteller and Mayans MC has the raw energy and intensity that are hallmarks of his signature style,” Co-president of FX’s Original Programming, Nick Grad said in a statment.
Fingers crossed that we have a summer of more BTS photos ahead of us! Will you be tuning into Mayans MC? Let us know!
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
