Legends of Tomorrow Recap ‘Nip/Tuck’

Constantine has been taken hostage by Ray, who wants to use the necromancer to open the portal to hell and release Tabitha. Of course, Constantine doesn’t want to use his magic. Ray forces his hand by cutting his throat with a knife. Constantine heals the wound, also alerting the Legends to his presence. When the Waverider shows up, Constantine begs his crewmen to shoot at him and Ray. He says that it may be the only chance they have to kill Neron. Sara doesn’t know what call to make because of course they want to save Ray. Mick jumps the gun and demands Gideon fire. It was all trap. The Waverider gets buried beneath an avalanche while Ray and Constantine portal away.

So of course tensions are now running high. Sara and Mick butt heads over his decision to open fire. Mick tells her that she should’ve been the one to make the call. Though it’s a hard situation, he says that when a member of the team goes dark, you have to do what you can. Sara yells at Mick and Charlie for not even being on the ship when Ray was possessed, galavanting about the book convention. Mick fires back that it’s okay for her to leave, but no one else. Later, the two reconcile their relationship, reminiscing on the old days. With Ray gone, they are the only two original crew members left. They are different people and a different team, but that doesn’t mean they will give up. Eventually, the Legends are able to melt their way through the ice and continue their search for Constantine and Ray.

Who find themselves in the past where Constantine’s ancestor causes the rift between humans and the magical. The Celtic are trying to banish a creature called a púca to the underworld, but Constantine knows that the creature is harmless. Ray says that fear will drive people to anything, and even strengthens their power. Constantine tries to confront his ancestor about the ritual, but only ends up getting himself almost banished to hell as well. He unleashes his power, harnessing his fear to become stronger. After a short fight, the púca escapes and the Celtic flee. Constantine then turns his sword on Ray. That’s when the Legends arrive. Sara asks Constantine not to kill Ray, and he puts down his sword. Then, to everyone’s shock, Constantine tells them that he will find Ray. He throws himself into the open portal, winding up in hell. Ray then takes the opportunity to summon Tabitha, who turns out to be the Fairy Godmother. The two of them use the time stone and vanish.

Meanwhile, Gary is using his possessed nipple in order to brainwash everyone at the Time Bureau. Yup. You read that right. Mona realizes that something is amiss when Ava announces performance reviews being conducted by Gary because “he’s the only man we need.” Mona enlists Nora’s help in figuring out what’s going on, but Nora also falls prey to Gary’s possession. In the end, Mona is able to stop Gary by going full beast mode and biting his nipple off. Everyone at the Bureau returns to normal, and Gary begs for them to forgive him. Luckily for the traitor, Ray and Tabitha appear in that moment. They take Gary and vanish.

This was a really strong episode with some great moments between Sara and Mick. It’s been a while since the two of them have been forced together, and it was nice to acknowledge where the team came from. They’ve been through a lot. I love the fact that they played Ray’s Legend version of Cards Against Humanity. Of course he would have the super sappy card about fighting till the end to save your teammate. With only two episodes left, things are looking down for the Legends, but I’m sure they’ll find some ridiculous way to save Ray and return Neron and Tabitha to the underworld.
