‘Lethal Weapon’: Seann William Scott to Replace Clayne Crawford
Fox has decided to bring Lethal Weapon back for a third season, but unfortunately the same can’t be said for series star Clayne Crawford. Crawford, who has starred on the series as Martin Higgs since the show’s premiere in 2016, was let go after his two-season contract due to “exhibiting a pattern of toxic behavior on the set,” according to EW. The actor released a statement on Instagram following the controversy.
So, with Crawford out it was up to Fox to decide whether or not they were going to cancel the series or continue on with a new lead, and it looks like they went with the latter. American Pie actor Seann William Scott has officially signed on to fill the new vacancy. He will play “a new character who partners up with co-lead Damon Wayans’ Roger Murtaugh.”
“Seann is a fantastic addition to this already amazing cast. Lethal Weapon is packed with action, drama and pure fun and we can’t wait to see Damon and Seann together on screen. Matt Miller, his incredible team and everyone at Warner Bros. have been tremendous partners, and we’re thrilled to bring this show back for another season,” Fox entertainment president Michael Thorn said in a statement.
Lethal Weapon also stars Damon Wayans, Jordana Brewster, Keesha Sharp, and Kevin Rahm.
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
