Let’s Break Down the Promo for the Next ‘Game of Thrones’ Episode

Game of Thrones’ season 8 premiere episode may have been a lot of set up and a lot of fan service, but don’t expect that much longer. Now that the stakes are set and plot points are in place, it’s time to get down to business and battle. Here’s what we can expect on this Sunday’s episode of Game of Thrones. 

While the premiere’s closing moments set up the meeting of Bran of Jamie, it’s his face to face with Daenerys that takes center stage in the promo.

Of course, he will still have to face the North and tell them of Cersei’s deception as well as Bran, who he, you know…paralyzed.

Unfortunately for Jon, it doesn’t look as though tensions between Sansa and Dany will be alleviating any time soon. 

Hopefully, the news of her pulling out of the battle will allow those in Winterfell to band together and not drift further apart. What better to bring everyone together than a mutual hatred of Cersei Lannister?

Dany finds Jon down in the crypts…will he tell her about what he learned from Sam? Or will he keep it to himself until after the battle?

Arya shares this ominous line while shooting an arrow.

Whether they’re ready or not, it looks as though the battle with the White Walkers will definitely be kicking off in this episode. Queue frenzied soldiers.

The trailer ends with Tyrion standing on top of a Winterfell castle as Tormund tells Jon, they have “until the sun comes up tomorrow.”

Side note: Now that Tormund is in Winterfell, there best be a scene between him and Brienne. Better yet? I’d love to see him, Brienne and Jamie all in a scene together 🙏
