Mark Hamill Remembers Carrie Fisher
During the 2017 Star Wars Celebration, Mark Hamill reflected on his working relationship with the late Carrie Fisher. This marks the first Star Wars Celebration since Fisher’s passing last December, while 2017 marks the 40th anniversary of the original Star Wars.
The event featured a panel in which Hamill, who refers to Fisher as his “beloved space twin,” shared some touching remarks regarding his costar. ““When I think of her, she’s looking down from the celestial stratosphere with those big brown eyes, that sly smile on her face, as she lovingly extends me the middle finger. And that’s how I want you to think of her. That was Carrie,” said Hamill.

Hamill told the audience that speaking to fans about Fisher and their friendship is his way of coping with the loss. The two have since collaborated on a number of Star Wars features together, including the impending Last Jedi, which is set for release in December of this year. “Wait until you see her in The Last Jedi. You’re going to love her,” Hamill stated.
