Marvel: How Drunk Tom Holland Saved ‘Spider-Man’

Tom Holland visited Jimmy Kimmel LIVE! and Tom discussed a variety of things, including about working with the Russo brothers to making the movie Spies in Disguise with Will Smith.  But, the highlight of the interview was his recollection of the call he had (three pints in) with Disney CEO Bob Iger to save Spider-Man.

“I saved Spider-Man” Holland said, to cheers and applause.

In September, Marvel head Kevin Feige said in a statement:

“I am thrilled that Spidey’s journey in the MCU will continue, and I and all of us at Marvel Studios are very excited that we get to keep working on it. Spider-Man is a powerful icon and hero whose story crosses all ages and audiences around the globe. He also happens to be the only hero with the superpower to cross cinematic universes, so as Sony continues to develop their own Spidey-verse you never know what surprises the future might hold.”

Sony’s chief communications officer Robert Lawson echoed Feige’s excitement over the deal. He said:

“We have had a great collaboration over the last four years, and our mutual desire to continue was equal to that of the many fans. We are delighted to be moving forward together.”
We’re glad everyone made up too!  We love Tom Holland as Spider-Man!
