Marvel Teases “More Adventures” for ‘Daredevil’ in the Future
Fans of Marvel’s Daredevil were stunned last Friday to learn that the series had been canceled by Netflix after a successful three season. Though the series will no longer air on the Netflix streaming platform, it looks like we haven’t seen the last of Matt Murdock and his crew.
Shortly after the cancelation announcement was made, Marvel released a statement saying:

From the moment of young Matt’s first act of heroism to the birth of Page, Murdock, & Nelson, it has been an unbelievable journey. We are incredibly proud of the amazing showrunners and writers starting with Drew Goddard and Steven DeKnight, Marco Ramirez and Doug Petrie and Erik Oleson, Charlie Cox, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Vincent D’Onofrio and our casts who brought our characters to life with such excellence, and every one of the fantastic crews in NYC. We look forward to more adventures with the Man without Fear in the future.”[/row]
The very last sentence echoes a similar wording which was included in the original cancelation statement. The statement from Netflix read, “While the series on Netflix has ended, the three existing seasons will remain on the service for years to come, while the Daredevil character will live on in future projects for Marvel.”
One possible solution would be for the series to move to another platform. Disney is beginning to slowly unveil details relating to its new streaming service platform called Disney+. While at this time, it’s unclear if Daredevil or any of the Netflix canceled series might be moving to Disney+, it certainly seems like a viable option for future productions. In the meantime, fans of the series can at least take comfort in the fact that both statements from Netflix and Marvel are pretty clear – Daredevil will be back. The only question is, “in what capacity?”
The news of Daredevil‘s cancelation comes just over a month after Netflix announced the cancelation of two other Marvel series, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. For now, it appears as if the two remaining Marvel series, Jessica Jones and The Punisher, will still run their next seasons on Netflix as previously planned.
