Michael Cudlitz and the Cast of ‘The Walking Dead’ Are Helping to Save Endangered Animals Through WildAid

The Walking Dead alum Michael Cudlitz is no stranger to charitable events.  In each city he visits along with Walker Stalker Con, Cudlitz promotes the Bisquick Challenge which asks attendees to bring non-perishable food items to the convention in order to donate the haul to local food pantries.  The food drive has become a staple of Walker Stalker Con and has even gotten a little competitive with cities competing to see who can bring the most food items.  In a new interview segment which aired on Wednesday, Cudlitz is amping up his charitable efforts and switching gears from edibles to endangered species.

During an interview on KTLA5 Morning News, Cudlitz chatted about The Walking Dead (of course), what it was like filming in Puerto Rico after the recent devastating hurricane and his involvement with an organization called WildAid.

WildAid’s mission is clear and simple according to their website, “to end the illegal wildlife trade in our lifetimes. We envision a world where people no longer buy wildlife products such as shark fin, elephant ivory and rhino horn.”

On November 11th, Cudlitz and the cast of The Walking Dead will be joining other celebrity ambassadors including Prince William, Leonardo DiCaprio, Maggie Q, Yao Ming, Lupita Nyong’o, Jackie Chan, David Beckham and Josh Duhamel at the WildAid Annual Gala in order to support the organization’s motto, “When the buying stops, the killing can too.”

Cudlitz shared his interview talking about the upcoming event via his Twitter page.

Below is the full video which Cudlitz shared via Twitter.  In the interview, Cudlitz explains that the Gala event is the organizations, annual big fundraiser.  In order to raise funds and awareness to help save these animals, fans and donors can bid on a multitude of items in a silent auction including the opportunity to have lunch with the man himself.  Check out Cudlitz’s interview below as well as the full promo video featuring the cast of The Walking Dead:
