Adapted from Tom Clancy’s best-selling book series, Jack Ryan stars Krasinski as Jack Ryan, up-and-coming CIA analyst heading on his first assignment to stop “a new breed of terrorism that threatens destruction on a global scale.” After giving the series an early renewal back in April, Amazon confirmed that season 2 of Jack Ryan would find Ryan “confronting the forces in power in a dangerous, declining democratic regime in South America.”

The new season will take our unexpected hero to a new, exciting and dangerous world,” said Jennifer Salke, Head of Amazon Studios.[/row]

Kelly has been playing the Chief of Staff Doug Stamper on Netflix’s House of Cards since its 2013 premiere, a role he has received three Primetime Emmy nominations for. The political drama will bow after a sixth and final season without series star Kevin Spacey who was fired after multiple sexual harassment allegations. On the big screen Kelly has appeared in films such as Everest, Man of Steel, Now You See Me, and Dawn of the Dead.

Jack Ryan also stars Wendell Pierce, Abbie Cornish, and Ali Suliman and was co-created by Carlton Cuse and Graham Roland.
