Netflix’s ‘The Haunting of Hill House’ Reveals First Images + Premiere Date
Netflix is gearing up for a spooky Halloween season for subscribers this year! In addition to The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, which is set to drop on October 26th, the streaming giant just announced their upcoming adaption for The Haunting of Hill House will be hitting screens on October 12th.
According to the official Netflix synopsis, “The Haunting of Hill House is a modern reimagining of Shirley Jackson’s legendary novel of the same name, about five siblings who grew up in the most famous haunted house in America. Now adults, they’re reunited by the suicide of their youngest sister, which forces them to finally confront the ghosts of their own pasts… some which lurk in their minds… and some which may really be lurking in the shadows of the iconic Hill House.”
The project was created, directed and executive produced by Mike Flanagan who will be reuniting with a few stars from his horror films of the past. The Haunting of Hill House will star E.T.’s Henry Thomas and Twilight’s Elizabeth Reaser who both worked with Flanagan in Ouija: Origin of Evil. Kate Siegel will also be joining the cast reuniting with Flanagan who she worked with on the horror film Hush. Game of Thrones star Michiel Huisman has also signed on in addition to Carla Gugino who has worked with both Flanagan, Thomas, and Siegel on Netflix’s Gerald’s Game.
McKenna Grace, Lulu Wilson, Paxton Singleton, Violet Mcgraw, Julian Hillard and Timothy Hutton will also star. The first season will feature 10 episodes and helms from Executive Producers Flanagan, Trevor Macy, Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank.
