New Picture Revealed of Tom Cruise in ‘American Made’
In the last week, we finally got a trailer for this amazing, exciting and breathtaking true story called American Made. Empire had the great pleasure of having an exclusive new picture of Tom Cruise in American Made. Take a look below:
Tom Cruise will be portraying the role of Barry Seal. Even though, it is a true story, director Doug Liman wasn’t planning to make this boring biopic of this story. Barry Seal’s second wife (yes, we are talking about the real Barry Seal now) opened her memories for Doug Liman and Tom Cruise and they made this version of Barry Seal. This is what Doug Liman said:
“Neither Tom nor I were interested in making a dry biopic. Barry’s second wife collaborated and opened her files, but we cherry-picked the details we liked; Tom and I wanted to create our own version of Barry Seal. For us it was how to tell the most exciting story.”
As we know, Tom Cruise is one for doing his own stunts and the movie American Made was no exception. He had the chance to fly his own plane on camera.
“We had to go to some exotic locations in South America,” chuckles Liman. “We flew three hours across uninhabited rainforest to a Colombian military airstrip at the edge of rebel-controlled territory. It was so remote that Tom and I slept in tents and foraged for wood to make camp fires at night.”
