Nickelodeon Bringing ‘Invader Zim’ and ‘Rise of the TMNT’ to SDCC

Nickelodeon’s comic-con line-up will be a big win for ‘80s, ‘90s and early ‘00s children. The cable network recently revealed to IGN their plans for San Diego Comic-Con which is expected to take place on Thursday, July 19, 2018.

In room 6A, at 1:45p.m to 2:45p.m, we’ll get the first look at the latest Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, with cast member Ben Schwartz, Josh Brener, Brandon Mychal Smith, Kat Graham, Omar Miller and Eric Bauza, co-executive producers Andy Suraino and Ant Ward, and voice director Rob Paulsen.

On Friday, July 20, 2018, INVADER ZIM: Enter the FLorpus TV movie which we’ve all be waiting for will reunite the voice cast of the original series in room 6A from 1:00p.m to 2:00p.m.

That’s not all, we expect the theme song for Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to be as catchy as the original one since it was created by composer Matt Mahaffey, who was the composer for Nickelodeon’s Sanjay and Craig, and Disney’s Henry Hugglemonster. He also wrote “Stay Home”, the original song for Shrek, the animated movie.

Of course, if it’s not on Instagram, it never happened. Nickelodeon is expected to stage a number of interactive activations at its booth on the SDCC convention floor. There will be a New York cityscape; a replica of the Turtle’s hidden lair, which will allow fans to take gifs, the Double Dare Hamster Wheel from the game show’s obstacle course will also be present, fans can take photos with The Loud House characters, there will be photo opportunities with a 23-foot tall reptar from Rugrats, customized merchandise like t-shirts and tote bags, exclusive collectibles, etc.

Select fans will stand a chance to take part in a virtual reality experience off the SDCC conventional floor. According to Nickelodeon, the experience will feature the turtles in Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles; live. The experience immerses users into the turtle’s New York City world and allows them to have a conversation with Mikey or Donnie. You can also get autographs from Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ voice talent and executive producers, Spongebob Squarepants’ Tom Kenny, the Invader Zim cast and creator, and the Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel cast. Cool, right?

Will you be over in San Diego for Comic Con this year? We will!
