Nikolaj Coster-Waldau Finds Post-‘Game of Thrones’ Role With New FX Series
Winter may have come and gone, but the silver lining behind Game of Thrones finally being over is that we now get to see some of our favorite actors from the HBO drama in new projects. First up is Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who played Jamie Lannister throughout the series’ eight-season run. According to TVLine, Coster-Waldau has been cast in FX’s new Old Hollywood pilot titled Gone Hollywood.
Gone Hollywood is described as a “1980-set drama pilot that follows some talent agents as they leave their old-school firm and found a new one of their own, which quickly rises to dominate the industry.” Coster-Waldau will be playing a character named DeVoe. He will be joined by a supporting cast including Lola Kirke, Jonathan Pryce, Judd Hirsch, and John Magaro.
Terriers’ Ted Griffin will both write and direct the pilot while also serving as showrunner and executive producer should FX eventually pick it up to series. What We Do in the Shadows’ Scott Rudin and S.W.A.T’s Shawn Ryan are also on board as Executive Producers.
Despite starring on one of the biggest television series of the last decade, which earned him an Emmy nomination last year, Coster-Waldau also found time to star in other projects as well. He appeared in 2013’s Oblivion starring Tom Cruise, 2016’s Gods of Egypt, and most recently starred in 2019’s crime thriller Domino, which was released back in May. In addition to Gone Hollywood, Coster-Waldau has three projects on the horizon including Suicide Tourist, Notat, and The Silencing, which follows a reformed hunter who becomes involved in a deadly game of cat and mouse when he sets out to track a vicious killer who may have kidnapped his daughter years ago.
