Original Apple Series Will be Free For Apple Customers

People who use Apple devices are in for a treat as Apple continues to work on producing original programming. According to The Verge, the newly developed PG programming is going to be free for those who use Apple devices. The devices including iPhones, iPads, and Apple TVs.

These shows will come with the option to add subscriptions to streaming services such as Starz and HBO Now. Apple will be pulling from Amazon’s Prime Channels model for their design.

Apple’s programming will be offered within the revamped TV app and will be offered for free. The app is available on iOS and Apple TV and will be launched in early 2019.

A lot of capital has gone into a soon-to-be-revealed catalog of original TV shows and movies because the company will be directly competing with Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.

As of June, Apple signed a multi-year deal with Oprah Winfrey to develop new shows, the creators of Sesame Street were ordered to create children’s shows, a reboot of Amazing Stories, A Hunger Games-like dystopian show called See, a series from Damien Chazelle (director of La La Land), and so much more.

Most likely, this content will be free to stream for Apple Customers, however, it is possible that Apple could launch a a subscription down the lin that’s more similar to its competitors.

They are reportedly also searxhing to make shows that will cement them in, and make them worth paying for. The initial free content may be used to draw people in when the service first launches.

In September, it was reported that Apple CEO Tim Cook chose to cancel Vital Signs, a series inspired by Dr. Dre’s story after being turn off by inappropriate scenes in a preview episode.

We will have to wait  and see how they offer the content, and if they end up sticking to solely family friendly content when they launch the service in 2019.
