Oscar Isaac in Talks to Voice Gomez Addams in Animated ‘Addams Family’ Movie
Star Wars: The Last Jedi star Oscar Isaac already has his sights set on his next film project. Isaacs is said to be in talks with MGM to voice the role of Gomez Addams in an upcoming animated Addams Family film.
The Addams Family originated as a single-panel cartoon by Charles Addams. Due to the popularity of the cartoon, The Addams Family was brought to life as a television series in the 1960s. The family was also depicted as an animated series in the early 1970s and later a feature film in the 1990s starring Anjelica Huston, Raul Julia, Christina Ricci and Christopher Lloyd.
The Addams Family characters include Gomez and Morticia Addams, their children Wednesday and Pugsley, Uncle Fester, Cousin Itt, Grandmama, Lurch and of course, Thing, a disembodied hand.
While the rest of the cast has not yet been announced, the upcoming film will be directed by Conrad Vernon with a screenplay by Pamela Pettler. MGM also announced on Friday that the release date for the film is set for October 11, 2019.
