‘Outlander’ Preview: 5 Places We’d Like To See Besides “Wilmington”

We’ve seen countless beautiful locations over the last four seasons, as well as some not so beautiful ones. This week’s episode is called, “Wilmington,” and it’s clear from the preview trailer that all of our favorite characters are in the coastal North Carolina town. This includes both Brianna and Roger. We have SO MANY questions about what that reunion is going to be like, and unfortunately no answers until Sunday. So in the meantime, let’s take a look at five locations that we’d love to see added to the Outlander universe.

  1. Lallybroch in the 1970s. We’ve seen so much of the Fraser clan’s ancestral home in the 1700s, but nothing of what it looks like in the present day. Is it still owned by a Fraser? Do the owners know of the incredible love story that took place in the house? Or has the manor fallen into disrepair?
  2. Boston in the early 1770s. Jamie briefly suggested taking Claire to Boston so that she’d feel at home. She refused, saying that she wanted a new life with him in a new place all their own. It was the right call for them, to be sure. But it did leave us wondering about what the city looks like here on the eve of the American Revolution.
  3. Fergus & Marsali’s house in Wilmington in 1770. This one is a bit of a cop-out, but we’re really curious about what Fergus and Marsali have been up to lately. Has their baby finally arrived? Is it a boy or a girl? Will they all three be joining Jamie and Claire at Fraser’s Ridge soon? And most importantly- will Laoghaire be crossing the sea to visit her new grandchild? (We’re really hoping the answer to that last question is no).
  4. Murtagh’s Forge for the past 20ish years. It’s really not a preview post without us talking about how much we love Murtagh and how little the show actually tells us about him. We know he has a lot on his plate right now, including a Regulator plot in Wilmington, so we’re willing to wait. But there better be at least three flashbacks explaining how he came to be a blacksmith before the season finale, or we’re going to be very disappointed.
  5. The Stones in North Carolina at any time. Remember that opening scene from the premiere? Remember how often it’s been talked about since then? Oh, that’s right, it’s never been explained. It would have been so convenient for Brianna and Roger and would have saved them so much strife on their sea voyages. Here’s hoping that someone clues the Frasers in on the location of their nearest portal through time sometime soon, just in case they end up needing it.

Episode 408, “Wilmington,” airs Sunday, December 23rd at 8 pm on Starz. Viewers can also watch on Starz.com and the Starz mobile app. Be sure to check back here to FanFest.com for a full episode recap and future episode previews.
