‘Ozark’ Season 2 to Hit Netflix This August!

Fans of Jason Bateman and Laura Linney’s latest Netflix series Ozark will be happy to know that the Byrde family will be returning for their sophomore season by the end of the summer, Friday, Aug. 31 to be exact! Netflix made the announcement with a teaser trailer on Thursday morning. You can check that out below!

According to the official synopsis, Season 2 will continue to follow “Marty Bryde (Bateman) and his family as they navigate the murky waters of life within a dangerous drug cartel. With Del out, the crime syndicate sends their ruthless attorney Helen Pierce (Marvel’s Jessica Jones‘ Janet McTeer) to town to shake things up just as The Byrdes are finally settling in. Marty and Wendy (Linney) struggle to balance their family interests amid the escalating dangers presented by their partnerships with the power-hungry Snells, the cartel and their new deputy, Ruth Langmore, whose father Cade has been released from prison. The stakes are even higher than before and The Byrdes soon realize they have to go all in before they can get out.” The season will feature 10 episodes.

“We’ve done a lot of things. Things that we said we would never do,”Wendy says in the teaser.

“People make choices, Wendy. Choices have consequences,” Marty tells her.

While speaking with The Hollywood Reporter last year Bateman, hinted that Wendy and Marty’s complicated relationship would be a big point of contention in the follow-up season.

Marty and Wendy now have $50 million they have to deal with, which escalates the stakes and jeopardy… and the relationship domestically between Marty and Wendy is still really fractured, and we’ll see if this business partnership they’re forced into is going to help that relationship or push it further apart.

Netflix users were first introduced to Ozark in July of last year with a series debut that gained a lot of buzz from critics and on social media. While they didn’t make the cut off for the 2017 Primetime Emmy Awards, experts are expecting to see Ozark receive a couple of nominations for the 2018 season.
